Speakers stress need for imparting leadership skills

Speakers underscored the need for imparting leadership skills among the learners to cope with the 21st-century challenges of the globe. 

They made the call in a seminar recently titled Teacher Leadership: Micro, Meso and Macro level’  ‘organized jointly  by Ministry of Education, Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, Department of Secondary and Higher Education, Directorate of Primary Education  and Aspire to Innovate [a2I] under  ICT division. 

Director-General, Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education, Prof Dr Syed Md. Golam Faruk attended as the chief guest

Head teacher Kaliganj Karim Uddin Public Pilot High School, Lalmonirhat  made made the welcome presentation. 

Assistant Head Teacher, G K Model High School Gazipur,  S M Tahmina moderated the session.

Kualalumpur, Malaysia,  Dr. Lee Saw Im,  English Teacher,  Adults High School and University, Dominican Republic, Ramona Antonia Grin M.A,  Head of the Department,  Dibyabhumi Multiple College, Tribhuvan University, Nepal, Trishna Acharya, National Teacher of India. Kolkata, West Bengal, India, Dr. Sabyasachi Majumdar,  Assistant Professor, Science Government Teachers’ Training College, Faridpur Bangladesh, Rokonuzzaman Sikder and  Assistant Headteacher Mohammad Makon High School & College Sylhet, Bangladesh,  Abdul Malik were the panel discussants

Speakers emphasised on developing the three levels (Micro, Meso, and Macro) of leadership skills in the best way among the learners so that they can cope with the global challenges.

They also said, education does not only mean learning what is in the syllabus of the book. Education also includes the skills which make individuals competent in this immensely diverse and fast-paced world.

Educators need to have insight and be proactive in up-skilling and retraining the co-teachers and colleagues to equipping the learners to reach the global target set by UN by 2030.
