Two things are different in 2026, and both matter. Applications moved entirely online — the Teletalk SMS method used in previous years no longer works. And for the first time, answer scripts are being re-evaluated, not only re-checked for addition errors.

SSC Board Challenge Result 2026 publish date

The SSC re-scrutiny result 2026 will be published on 10 September 2026. Professor Syed Aktaruzzaman, chairman of Dhaka Education Board and president of the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee, gave the date on 20 August.

That is exactly one month after the main result, which came out on 10 August 2026. Applications closed on 17 August, so the boards have taken a little over three weeks to work through them — the pattern they normally follow.

The date sitting at the far end of the usual range is not surprising. Close to 13 lakh papers had to be processed, more than in any recent year, and this cycle the boards added re-evaluation on top of the usual checks. Both take time.

There is no press conference for a re-scrutiny result. Each board publishes on its own website, usually in the afternoon, and the eleven boards do not all publish at the same hour. Dhaka is normally first.

What changed in the 2026 rules: answer scripts are now re-evaluated

This is the most significant change this year, and many students still have not heard about it.

Until 2026 the boards' own regulations left no room for re-evaluation. A board challenge meant verification and nothing more:

  • whether every question that was answered received a mark

  • whether the marks on each page were added correctly

  • whether the total on the script matches the total in the board's system

  • whether the OMR sheet was read correctly for the MCQ section

  • whether any page of the script was skipped by the examiner

No second examiner read your writing and decided it deserved more credit. That is precisely why, in every previous year, the large majority of applications ended with the result unchanged.

For 2026 that has been widened. Alongside the checks above, actual re-evaluation of the answer script has been brought into the process — something the rules did not previously allow.

How far it goes in practice, and whether it applies to every application or only some, has not been set out in a published board notice. So treat it as the review being widened, not as a guarantee your grade will move. The real picture will only be clear on 10 September.

How to check the SSC Board Challenge Result 2026

There are three ways. The first comes to you; the other two you do yourself.

1. SMS — it arrives on its own

The board sends an SMS directly to the mobile number you entered during your application, once your result is finalised. You do not need to request it and there is no format to send. This is why that number must stay active.

2. Your board's PDF list

Each board publishes a PDF naming every roll number whose result was revised, with the subject, the previous and revised grade, and the GPA. Open the file and search for your six-digit roll — Ctrl+F on a computer, the magnifier icon in a phone's PDF reader.

If your roll appears, your result changed. If it does not appear, your original result stands.

3. Search by roll number

A board PDF can run to tens of thousands of rows, which is miserable to search on a phone. Use the checker at the top of this page instead: pick your board, type your roll, and you get the subject, both grades and the GPA change in one answer.

Every board's official PDF is listed below as soon as it is released. Boards do not publish at the same time, so the status column tells you where each one stands.

The files below are the official board documents. If a board still shows Pending, its file has not been released yet — check back rather than trusting a PDF circulating on social media.

Dhaka alone accounts for more than a quarter of every application in the country, more than the next two boards combined — even though Dhaka had the highest pass rate of any board at 71.63 percent. A good result does not stop a student challenging a grade they believe is one step too low.

Chattogram is second with 1,37,601. That board's pass rate fell more than twelve points this year, from 72.07 to 59.48 percent, and the volume of challenges follows the fall.

Dakhil Result 2026 re-scrutiny for Madrasah Board

Dakhil examinees under the Madrasah Education Board applied through the same portal and on the same dates, 11 to 17 August 2026, at the same Tk 150 per paper. The only difference is selecting Dakhil rather than SSC as the examination.

The Madrasah Board received 1,17,059 applications — 1,03,503 for theory papers and 13,556 for practical. Its results appear in the same table above, listed as Madrasah (Dakhil) Board.

SSC Vocational re-scrutiny 2026 for the Technical Board

SSC Vocational students under the Technical Education Board were also eligible, through the same portal and the same window. Choose SSC Vocational as the examination.

The Technical Board received 51,214 applications, of which 16,909 were for practical papers — a third of its total, the highest practical share of any board, which fits the structure of vocational courses.

What happens if your result changes

No change

By a wide margin the most common outcome. No error was found, so your original grade stands and your roll number will not appear in the board PDF. Nothing further is required.

Grade improved

An error was found and corrected. Your subject grade rises and usually your GPA with it. The board issues a corrected result and the online marksheet updates.

Fail changed to pass

The most consequential outcome — your overall result changes from Fail to Pass. This one is time-sensitive: contact your board and your intended college in the same week the result is published, rather than waiting for a general announcement.

Your grade cannot go down. Re-scrutiny only corrects an error in your favour. If nothing is found, your original result stands exactly as it was.

Apply for HSC admission now — do not wait for 10 September

Students make this mistake every year, so it is worth saying plainly.

Everyone who applied for re-scrutiny must still make their XI class admission application inside the normal window, on the result they hold today. Waiting for 10 September can mean the admission window closes while you are still waiting.

If your result then changes, applicants in that position will be given a fresh opportunity to apply. But that only helps if you are already inside the process. See the HSC Admission Circular 2026 for the dates.

Why so many applied in 2026

The scale of this year's board challenge makes sense only against the result that preceded it.

  • Pass rate 62.25 percent, down from 68.45 percent in 2025 — the lowest in close to two decades

  • GPA-5 achieved by 1,16,676 students, down from 1,39,032

  • Of 18,29,485 candidates who sat, 11,38,877 passed

  • 6,90,608 did not pass — 41.75 percent of everyone who took the exam

Both headline numbers fell at once, which is what produced a record number of challenges. Full board-wise figures are on our SSC Result 2026 with marksheet page.

Frequently asked questions

When will the SSC board challenge result 2026 be published?

On 10 September 2026, a Thursday. The Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee announced the date on 20 August 2026.

Can I still apply for SSC re-scrutiny 2026?

No. The window closed at 11:59 PM on 17 August 2026 and no extension was announced. There is no late-application provision.

Does the RSC SMS to 16140 still work?

No. The Teletalk SMS method was retired for 2026. Applications were accepted only at rescrutiny.eduboardresults.gov.bd. Sending an SMS to 16140 registers nothing.

How much was the fee?

Tk 150 per paper, paid through bKash, Nagad or Sonali Seba. It is non-refundable whether or not your grade changes.

Can my GPA go down after a board challenge?

No. Re-scrutiny only corrects an error in your favour. If no error is found, your original result stands unchanged.

Are answer scripts really being re-marked this year?

Yes, from 2026. Previously a board only verified that marks were added correctly and the OMR was read properly. This year the rules were widened to include actual re-evaluation of the answer script. How broadly it is applied has not been published, so treat it as a wider review rather than a guarantee.

I changed my mobile number after applying. What now?

The SMS goes only to the number entered during the application, so you will not receive it. Use the checker at the top of this page, or your board's PDF list.

Do I need to apply for both papers of Bangla or English?

Yes. Two-paper subjects cannot be challenged separately, so an application must cover both papers. That is Tk 300 for the subject.

Will a corrected result change my certificate?

Yes. Once the revision is recorded, the corrected grade appears on your official marksheet and on the certificate issued by your board.
