Dialogue Between Two Friends — Complete Guide With Bangla Meaning
A dialogue between two friends is one of the most common dialogue formats in school examinations in Bangladesh, from class 6 all the way to HSC. Exam boards love this topic because it tests natural, everyday English — greetings, asking questions, sharing opinions, making plans, and ending a conversation politely. The good news is that one flexible framework can serve almost every exam question: once you learn how two friends start a conversation, exchange ideas, and close it gracefully, you can adapt the same structure to any topic — meeting after a long time, aim in life, exam preparation, or the importance of learning English. This page gives you four ready-to-learn dialogues, one for each level — class 6–7, class 8–9, SSC, and HSC — and every single line comes with its বঙ্গানুবাদ, so you never have to guess the meaning. Read them aloud with a partner, learn the useful sentence patterns, and you will be able to write your own dialogue between two friends on any topic the exam gives you.
Dialogue Between Two Friends for Class 6-7 (Short Version)
This is a simple, natural conversation between two friends who meet after a long time. It covers greetings, asking about studies, and weekend plans — the exact things junior classes are asked to write. Read each English line, then its Bangla meaning right below it.
Rakib: Hello, Tanvir! Long time no see. How are you?
*হ্যালো, তানভীর! অনেক দিন দেখা হয় না। কেমন আছো?*
Tanvir: I am fine, thank you. And you, Rakib?
*আমি ভালো আছি, ধন্যবাদ। আর তুমি, রাকিব?*
Rakib: I am also fine. I saw you in the market last week, but you did not notice me.
*আমিও ভালো আছি। গত সপ্তাহে তোমাকে বাজারে দেখেছিলাম, কিন্তু তুমি আমাকে লক্ষ করনি।*
Tanvir: Oh, really? I am sorry. The market was very crowded that day.
*ওহ, সত্যিই? দুঃখিত। সেদিন বাজার খুব ভিড় ছিল।*
Rakib: It is okay. So, how are your studies going these days?
*ঠিক আছে। তো, আজকাল পড়াশোনা কেমন চলছে?*
Tanvir: Pretty well. I am trying to improve my English. What about you?
*মোটামুটি ভালো। আমি আমার ইংরেজি উন্নত করার চেষ্টা করছি। তোমার কী খবর?*
Rakib: My studies are going well too. But mathematics is a little difficult for me.
*আমার পড়াশোনাও ভালো চলছে। কিন্তু গণিত আমার কাছে একটু কঠিন।*
Tanvir: Do not worry. Practice makes a man perfect. If you solve problems every day, it will become easy.
*চিন্তা কোরো না। অনুশীলনই মানুষকে পারদর্শী করে। তুমি প্রতিদিন অঙ্ক কষলে এটা সহজ হয়ে যাবে।*
Rakib: You are right. I will start practicing from today. What are you doing this weekend?
*তুমি ঠিক বলেছ। আমি আজ থেকে অনুশীলন শুরু করব। এই সপ্তাহান্তে তুমি কী করছ?*
Tanvir: Nothing special. Why do you ask?
*বিশেষ কিছু না। কেন জিজ্ঞেস করলে?*
Rakib: There is a book fair at the school ground on Friday. Would you like to go with me?
*শুক্রবার স্কুল মাঠে একটি বইমেলা আছে। তুমি কি আমার সাথে যাবে?*
Tanvir: That sounds wonderful! I love books. What time shall we meet?
*দারুণ শোনাচ্ছে! আমি বই ভালোবাসি। আমরা কখন দেখা করব?*
Rakib: Let us meet at 3 o'clock in front of the school gate.
*চলো স্কুল গেটের সামনে বিকেল ৩টায় দেখা করি।*
Tanvir: Okay, I will be there on time. See you then!
*ঠিক আছে, আমি সময়মতো সেখানে থাকব। তাহলে দেখা হচ্ছে!*
Rakib: See you. Bye!
*দেখা হবে। বাই!*
Dialogue Between Two Friends for Class 8-9
At this level, exams often ask for a dialogue between two friends about aim in life or future plans. The conversation below shows two friends discussing what they want to become — a doctor, a teacher, and an engineer — and giving reasons for their choices. Notice how each friend asks questions and reacts to the other's answers; that back-and-forth rhythm is what makes a dialogue feel real.
Mim: Hi, Sohan! Have you decided what you want to be in the future?
*হাই, সোহান! ভবিষ্যতে তুমি কী হতে চাও — ঠিক করেছ?*
Sohan: Not yet, Mim. I am still confused. What about you? Have you decided?
*এখনো না, মিম। আমি এখনো দ্বিধায় আছি। তোমার কী খবর? তুমি ঠিক করেছ?*
Mim: Yes, I have. I want to be a doctor.
*হ্যাঁ, করেছি। আমি ডাক্তার হতে চাই।*
Sohan: A doctor! That is a noble profession. But why do you want to be a doctor?
*ডাক্তার! এটা একটা মহৎ পেশা। কিন্তু তুমি ডাক্তার হতে চাও কেন?*
Mim: Because I want to serve the poor people of my village. There is no good hospital there, and many people suffer without treatment.
*কারণ আমি আমার গ্রামের গরিব মানুষের সেবা করতে চাই। সেখানে কোনো ভালো হাসপাতাল নেই, আর অনেক মানুষ চিকিৎসা ছাড়াই কষ্ট পায়।*
Sohan: That is a really kind thought. I respect your decision.
*এটা সত্যিই দয়ালু চিন্তা। আমি তোমার সিদ্ধান্তকে সম্মান করি।*
Mim: Thank you. Now tell me, what are you thinking about your future?
*ধন্যবাদ। এবার বলো, তোমার ভবিষ্যৎ নিয়ে তুমি কী ভাবছ?*
Sohan: To be honest, I am thinking of becoming an engineer. I love building things and solving technical problems.
*সত্যি বলতে, আমি ইঞ্জিনিয়ার হওয়ার কথা ভাবছি। আমি জিনিসপত্র বানাতে আর কারিগরি সমস্যা সমাধান করতে ভালোবাসি।*
Mim: That suits you! You are always good at mathematics and science.
*এটা তোমার সাথে মানায়! তুমি সবসময় গণিত আর বিজ্ঞানে ভালো।*
Sohan: Yes, and engineers build bridges, roads, and buildings. I want to take part in the development of our country.
*হ্যাঁ, আর ইঞ্জিনিয়াররা সেতু, রাস্তা আর ভবন তৈরি করে। আমি আমাদের দেশের উন্নয়নে অংশ নিতে চাই।*
Mim: That sounds like a good plan. But do you know how much hard work it needs?
*এটা ভালো পরিকল্পনা মনে হচ্ছে। কিন্তু তুমি কি জানো এর জন্য কত কঠোর পরিশ্রম দরকার?*
Sohan: I know. Both of us will have to study very hard. There is no shortcut to success.
*আমি জানি। আমাদের দুজনকেই খুব কঠোর পড়াশোনা করতে হবে। সাফল্যের কোনো সংক্ষিপ্ত পথ নেই।*
Mim: Exactly. Let us promise that we will help each other in our studies.
*ঠিক তাই। চলো আমরা প্রতিশ্রুতি দিই যে পড়াশোনায় একে অপরকে সাহায্য করব।*
Sohan: Agreed! Friends should always support each other. Let us start studying together from next week.
*রাজি! বন্ধুদের সবসময় একে অপরকে সাহায্য করা উচিত। চলো আগামী সপ্তাহ থেকে একসাথে পড়া শুরু করি।*
Mim: Great idea! I am sure we will both reach our goals one day.
*দারুণ বুদ্ধি! আমি নিশ্চিত একদিন আমরা দুজনেই আমাদের লক্ষ্যে পৌঁছাব।*
Dialogue Between Two Friends for SSC
SSC dialogue questions are usually longer and carry more marks, so this version is more detailed. The topic here is preparation for the examination — a favourite of examiners because every student can relate to it. The dialogue covers making a study routine, dealing with difficult subjects, and sharing practical advice. Learn the exam-related vocabulary here; it will help you in paragraph and composition writing too.
Arif: Good morning, Nabila! You look worried. What is the matter?
*শুভ সকাল, নাবিলা! তোমাকে চিন্তিত দেখাচ্ছে। কী হয়েছে?*
Nabila: Good morning, Arif. Our test examination is knocking at the door, and I have not finished my syllabus yet.
*শুভ সকাল, আরিফ। আমাদের টেস্ট পরীক্ষা দরজায় কড়া নাড়ছে, আর আমি এখনো আমার সিলেবাস শেষ করিনি।*
Arif: Do not panic. We still have enough time if we use it wisely. Have you made a study routine?
*আতঙ্কিত হোয়ো না। আমরা যদি সময় বুদ্ধিমানের মতো ব্যবহার করি, তাহলে এখনো যথেষ্ট সময় আছে। তুমি কি পড়ার রুটিন বানিয়েছ?*
Nabila: No, I have not. I just study whatever I feel like. Is that a bad habit?
*না, বানাইনি। আমার যা মনে চায় তাই পড়ি। এটা কি খারাপ অভ্যাস?*
Arif: Yes, it is. Without a routine, you cannot cover all the subjects equally. I follow a fixed routine, and it helps me a lot.
*হ্যাঁ, এটা খারাপ অভ্যাস। রুটিন ছাড়া তুমি সব বিষয় সমানভাবে শেষ করতে পারবে না। আমি একটা নির্দিষ্ট রুটিন মেনে চলি, আর এটা আমাকে অনেক সাহায্য করে।*
Nabila: Can you share your routine with me? I really need some guidance.
*তুমি কি তোমার রুটিনটা আমার সাথে শেয়ার করতে পারো? আমার সত্যিই কিছু পরামর্শ দরকার।*
Arif: Of course. I wake up at 5:30 in the morning and study English and mathematics when my mind is fresh. After breakfast, I go to school. In the evening, I revise science and other subjects.
*অবশ্যই। আমি ভোর ৫:৩০টায় উঠি আর মন যখন সতেজ থাকে তখন ইংরেজি ও গণিত পড়ি। নাশতার পর স্কুলে যাই। সন্ধ্যায় বিজ্ঞান ও অন্যান্য বিষয় ঝালাই করি।*
Nabila: That is a good system. Which subject do you find the most difficult?
*এটা ভালো পদ্ধতি। কোন বিষয়টা তোমার কাছে সবচেয়ে কঠিন লাগে?*
Arif: For me, higher mathematics is the toughest. Some chapters of trigonometry really confuse me. What about you?
*আমার কাছে উচ্চতর গণিত সবচেয়ে কঠিন। ত্রিকোণমিতির কিছু অধ্যায় আমাকে সত্যিই বিভ্রান্ত করে। তোমার কী অবস্থা?*
Nabila: English grammar is my weak point. I always make mistakes in right forms of verbs and narration.
*ইংরেজি ব্যাকরণ আমার দুর্বল দিক। রাইট ফর্মস অফ ভার্বস আর ন্যারেশনে আমি সবসময় ভুল করি।*
Arif: Here is a tip that works for me: I keep a separate notebook for grammar rules and revise it for fifteen minutes every day. Small daily practice beats last-minute memorising.
*আমার জন্য কাজ করে এমন একটা টিপস দিই: আমি ব্যাকরণের নিয়মের জন্য আলাদা একটা খাতা রাখি আর প্রতিদিন পনেরো মিনিট করে ঝালাই করি। শেষ মুহূর্তে মুখস্থ করার চেয়ে প্রতিদিন অল্প অনুশীলন ভালো।*
Nabila: That is smart. I will try it. Do you solve previous years' question papers?
*এটা বুদ্ধিমানের কাজ। আমি চেষ্টা করব। তুমি কি আগের বছরের প্রশ্নপত্র সমাধান করো?*
Arif: Yes, regularly. It shows which topics are repeated and teaches time management. I also write at least one model test every week.
*হ্যাঁ, নিয়মিত। এতে বোঝা যায় কোন টপিকগুলো বারবার আসে আর সময় ব্যবস্থাপনা শেখা যায়। আমি প্রতি সপ্তাহে অন্তত একটা মডেল টেস্টও লিখি।*
Nabila: I have never done that. I think I have been studying the wrong way all this time.
*আমি কখনো এটা করিনি। মনে হচ্ছে এতদিন আমি ভুল পদ্ধতিতে পড়ছিলাম।*
Arif: It is never too late to change. Start today: make a routine, focus on your weak subjects, and solve model questions. And remember to sleep well before the exam.
*বদলাতে কখনো দেরি হয় না। আজ থেকে শুরু করো: রুটিন বানাও, দুর্বল বিষয়গুলোতে মনোযোগ দাও, আর মডেল প্রশ্ন সমাধান করো। আর মনে রেখো, পরীক্ষার আগে ভালো ঘুম দরকার।*
Nabila: Thank you so much, Arif. You have removed a big tension from my mind. I feel confident now.
*তোমাকে অনেক ধন্যবাদ, আরিফ। তুমি আমার মন থেকে বড় একটা দুশ্চিন্তা দূর করে দিয়েছ। এখন আমি আত্মবিশ্বাসী বোধ করছি।*
Arif: You are most welcome. Good friends always help each other. Best of luck for your preparation!
*তোমাকে স্বাগতম। ভালো বন্ধুরা সবসময় একে অপরকে সাহায্য করে। তোমার প্রস্তুতির জন্য শুভকামনা!*
Dialogue Between Two Friends for HSC
This is the longest and most thoughtful version, written for HSC-level students. The topic is the importance of learning English and using mobile phones wisely — two themes examiners frequently choose because they connect language learning with real life. The vocabulary here is slightly richer, and the arguments are deeper, which is exactly what HSC examiners expect. Take notes on the useful expressions; you can reuse them in essays and paragraphs too.
Fahim: Hello, Tanisha! I saw your post on Facebook yesterday. Your English caption was really impressive.
*হ্যালো, তানিশা! গতকাল ফেসবুকে তোমার পোস্ট দেখলাম। তোমার ইংরেজি ক্যাপশনটা সত্যিই চমৎকার ছিল।*
Tanisha: Thank you, Fahim! I have been practicing writing in English every day. How is your English preparation going?
*ধন্যবাদ, ফাহিম! আমি প্রতিদিন ইংরেজিতে লেখার অনুশীলন করছি। তোমার ইংরেজির প্রস্তুতি কেমন চলছে?*
Fahim: Honestly, not very well. I understand grammar rules, but I cannot speak or write fluently. I feel shy when I try.
*সত্যি বলতে, খুব ভালো না। আমি ব্যাকরণের নিয়ম বুঝি, কিন্তু সাবলীলভাবে বলতে বা লিখতে পারি না। চেষ্টা করলে লজ্জা লাগে।*
Tanisha: Many students feel the same way. But remember, English is no longer just a subject — it is a skill. In higher education and in jobs, good English gives you a clear advantage.
*অনেক শিক্ষার্থীই এমন অনুভব করে। কিন্তু মনে রেখো, ইংরেজি এখন আর শুধু একটা বিষয় নয় — এটা একটা দক্ষতা। উচ্চশিক্ষায় আর চাকরিতে ভালো ইংরেজি তোমাকে স্পষ্ট সুবিধা দেয়।*
Fahim: You are right. Most of the good study materials on the internet are in English. Without English, I feel cut off from the world's knowledge.
*তুমি ঠিক বলেছ। ইন্টারনেটে বেশিরভাগ ভালো পড়ার উপকরণ ইংরেজিতে। ইংরেজি ছাড়া আমি পৃথিবীর জ্ঞান থেকে বিচ্ছিন্ন বোধ করি।*
Tanisha: Exactly! And think about freelancing. So many young people in Bangladesh earn money online, but almost all freelancing work needs English communication with foreign clients.
*ঠিক তাই! আর ফ্রিল্যান্সিংয়ের কথা ভাবো। বাংলাদেশের অনেক তরুণ অনলাইনে আয় করে, কিন্তু প্রায় সব ফ্রিল্যান্সিং কাজে বিদেশি ক্লায়েন্টদের সাথে ইংরেজিতে যোগাযোগ দরকার হয়।*
Fahim: That is true. But how did you improve so fast? What is your secret?
*এটা সত্যি। কিন্তু তুমি এত তাড়াতাড়ি কীভাবে উন্নতি করলে? তোমার গোপন রহস্য কী?*
Tanisha: No secret, just consistency. I read one English article every morning, learn five new words daily, and write a short diary entry in English at night. I also watch English videos with subtitles.
*কোনো গোপন রহস্য নেই, শুধু নিয়মিততা। আমি প্রতি সকালে একটা ইংরেজি আর্টিকেল পড়ি, প্রতিদিন পাঁচটা নতুন শব্দ শিখি, আর রাতে ইংরেজিতে ছোট ডায়েরি লিখি। সাবটাইটেলসহ ইংরেজি ভিডিওও দেখি।*
Fahim: That sounds doable. But I waste so much time on my mobile phone — scrolling social media for hours. It is my biggest problem.
*এটা করা সম্ভব মনে হচ্ছে। কিন্তু আমি মোবাইল ফোনে অনেক সময় নষ্ট করি — ঘণ্টার পর ঘণ্টা সোশ্যাল মিডিয়া স্ক্রল করি। এটা আমার সবচেয়ে বড় সমস্যা।*
Tanisha: A mobile phone is like a knife — it depends on how you use it. It can be your best teacher or your worst enemy.
*মোবাইল ফোন ছুরির মতো — তুমি কীভাবে ব্যবহার করছ তার ওপর নির্ভর করে। এটা তোমার সেরা শিক্ষকও হতে পারে, আবার সবচেয়ে বড় শত্রুও।*
Fahim: That is a powerful comparison. So how can I use my phone wisely?
*এটা শক্তিশালী তুলনা। তাহলে আমি কীভাবে বুদ্ধিমানের মতো ফোন ব্যবহার করতে পারি?*
Tanisha: Simple. Uninstall the apps that waste your time, or at least set a daily limit for them. Then install a dictionary app, an English learning app, and follow some good educational pages. Turn your phone into a classroom.
Fahim: I never thought of it that way. My phone is always in my hand, so why not learn from it?
*আমি এভাবে কখনো ভাবিনি। আমার ফোন সবসময় আমার হাতে থাকে, তাহলে এটা থেকে শিখব না কেন?*
Tanisha: Exactly my point! Even thirty minutes of focused learning on your phone every day will change your English within a few months.
*ঠিক আমার কথাই! প্রতিদিন ফোনে মাত্র ত্রিশ মিনিট মনোযোগী পড়াশোনাও কয়েক মাসে তোমার ইংরেজি বদলে দেবে।*
Fahim: You have really opened my eyes today, Tanisha. From tomorrow, I will follow your method — reading, new words, diary writing, and wise use of my phone.
*তানিশা, তুমি আজ সত্যিই আমার চোখ খুলে দিয়েছ। আগামীকাল থেকে আমি তোমার পদ্ধতি অনুসরণ করব — পড়া, নতুন শব্দ, ডায়েরি লেখা, আর ফোনের বুদ্ধিমান ব্যবহার।*
Tanisha: I am glad to hear that. And we can practice together — let us speak in English for ten minutes every day after class. Deal?
*শুনে খুশি হলাম। আর আমরা একসাথে অনুশীলন করতে পারি — চলো প্রতিদিন ক্লাসের পর দশ মিনিট ইংরেজিতে কথা বলি। রাজি?*
Fahim: Deal! Thank you for your wonderful advice. I will not waste this valuable time of my life anymore.
*রাজি! তোমার চমৎকার পরামর্শের জন্য ধন্যবাদ। আমি আমার জীবনের এই মূল্যবান সময় আর নষ্ট করব না।*

Dialogue Writing Tips
Writing a good dialogue between two friends is a skill, and like any skill, it follows a few simple rules. Master these tips and you can write a dialogue on any topic your exam gives you.
1. Give your speakers names. Never write "Friend 1" and "Friend 2" if you can avoid it. Names like Rakib, Mim, Arif, and Tanisha make the conversation feel real and show the examiner you put thought into your writing.
2. Start with a natural greeting. Real conversations do not begin with the topic. Begin the way friends actually meet: "Hello!", "Good morning!", "Long time no see!", or "What a surprise to see you here!" Then move to the topic smoothly.
3. Keep the ask-and-answer rhythm. A dialogue is a game of catch — one friend asks or shares something, the other reacts, answers, and throws a new question back. Avoid long speeches by one speaker; alternate short, natural turns so both friends speak roughly equally.
4. Learn a bank of useful sentence patterns. Examiners reward natural expressions. Memorise these and drop them into any dialogue: "Long time no see!", "What are you up to these days?", "Have you decided what to do after the exam?", "That sounds like a good plan.", "You are absolutely right.", "I could not agree more.", "What a great idea!", "Thanks for your advice."
5. React to what the other person says. Do not let the speakers talk past each other. If one friend shares a problem, the other should show sympathy ("I am sorry to hear that") or give advice ("Here is a tip that works for me"). Reactions are what separate a real dialogue from two monologues.
6. Stay on the topic. Every line should connect to the exam topic. If the question is about aim in life, do not wander into cricket scores for five lines. One or two friendly side-lines are fine, but the main thread must stay visible throughout.
7. Use simple, correct English. You do not need difficult words to get full marks. Short, correct sentences beat long, broken ones every time. Write the way educated friends actually talk — polite, clear, and natural.
8. End the dialogue politely. Never stop suddenly. Close with thanks, good wishes, or a plan to meet again: "Thank you so much for your advice.", "Best of luck!", "See you tomorrow.", "It was nice talking to you." A warm ending leaves a good final impression on the examiner.
9. Exam-day advice. First, read the question twice and underline the topic. Decide the two names and the three main points you will cover before you start writing. Keep junior-level dialogues to 10–14 exchanges and SSC/HSC ones to 14–20 exchanges. Finally, leave a minute to re-read your dialogue and fix spelling mistakes — clean writing earns clean marks.

FAQs
What is a dialogue between two friends for class 6?
For class 6, a dialogue between two friends is usually a short, simple conversation of about 10–12 exchanges on an easy topic like meeting after a long time, weekend plans, or favourite hobbies. Use short sentences, basic vocabulary, and a clear greeting at the start with a polite goodbye at the end. The class 6–7 example on this page is written exactly at this level and can be memorised as a model.
How do I write a dialogue between two friends for class 8?
For class 8, choose a slightly deeper topic such as aim in life, the importance of reading books, or keeping the environment clean. Give each friend a name, let them exchange opinions with reasons (not just yes/no answers), and aim for 12–16 exchanges. The class 8–9 model dialogue above on future plans shows the right length, vocabulary, and reasoning style for this level.
Where can I find a dialogue between two friends with Bangla meaning?
You are on the right page. Every dialogue above comes with line-by-line বঙ্গানুবাদ under each speaker's line, so you can understand the exact meaning of every sentence. Reading the English line first and then checking its Bangla meaning is one of the fastest ways to build both vocabulary and sentence sense.
How do I write a dialogue between two friends about aim in life?
Start with one friend asking about the other's future plan, then let each friend name a profession (doctor, teacher, engineer, farmer) and explain WHY they chose it — serving people, building the country, loving children. Add a line about hard work being necessary, and close with a promise to help each other. The class 8–9 dialogue on this page follows exactly this structure and works as a ready model.
What should a dialogue between two friends for SSC include?
An SSC dialogue should be longer (14–20 exchanges) and show mature thinking: a clear topic like exam preparation, the value of time, or the uses and abuses of the internet. Include practical details (routines, tips, examples), let both friends contribute ideas, and use some exam-level vocabulary naturally. The SSC model dialogue above on examination preparation demonstrates this standard.
How long should a dialogue between two friends for HSC be?
For HSC, aim for 16–22 exchanges with deeper arguments and richer vocabulary. Examiners expect you to discuss ideas, not just exchange information — compare advantages and disadvantages, give real-life examples (like freelancing or online learning), and end with a thoughtful conclusion. The HSC dialogue above on learning English and using mobile phones wisely is written to this standard.
How to write dialogue between two friends on any unseen topic?
Use the universal framework: greeting → introduce the topic with a question → exchange 3–4 ideas with reasons and reactions → share advice or make a plan → polite ending. Memorise 8–10 flexible sentence patterns from the tips section (such as "What are you up to these days?" and "That sounds like a good plan."), and you can adapt them to any topic — traffic jams, price hikes, village life, or digital Bangladesh.
Can I change the names and topic of these model dialogues in the exam?
Yes, and you should. Examiners value originality, so keep the structure and useful expressions but change the names, add one personal detail, and adjust lines to match the exact question. A dialogue that answers the given topic precisely always scores higher than a memorised one copied word for word.
