Verbs
Verbs
Verbs generally express an action or a state of being. There are several classifications for Verbs- Action verbs , Linking verbs, Main verbs /Principal verbs, Be verbs /Auxiliary verbs, Transitive verbs, Intransitive verbs and Phrasal verbs.
For Example: Action verbs show action.
1.He runs ,She plays, `
Linking verbs: Link the subject to an adjective or a
Noun.
1.Matin is intelligent. He is a teacher.
Here the linking verbs connect the adjective(intelligent) or a noun (teacher) with the subject.
Transitive verbs:
1. I write a letter
2. The boy read a book.
Intransitive verbs:
1.Birds fly
2. The fan moves.
Main verbs /Principal verbs,
1.He played football
2.He reads in class 10.
Be verbs /Auxiliary verbs,
1. I have done this sum.
2. We are playing foot ball.
