ports asks to hoist cautionary signal No. 3
Maritime
port of Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to keep
hoisted local cautionary signal No. 3 as the monsoon depression over North West
Bay and adjoining area moved North-Northwestwards and intensified into a
monsoon depression over the same area, reports UNB.
At noon, it was centred about 110 kms south of
Chattogram port, 65 kms south of Cox's Bazar port, 240 kms southeast of Mongla
port, 145 kms southeast of Payra port, said a special bulletin of Met office.
It is
likely to move in a northwesterly direction and cross the Bangladesh coast near
Khepupara by evening on Tuesday.
Maximum sustained wind speed within 48 kms of
the deep depression centre is about 50 kph rising to 60 kph in gusts or
squalls.
The sea will remain rough near the system
centre.
All fishing boats and trawlers over the North
Bay have been advised to remain in shelter till further notice.
