Slow and steady wins the race

A hare and a tortoise lived a long time ago in a forest. The hare was very proud of his speed. He would tease the tortoise for being slow. The tortoise could no longer bear the teasing one day and challenged the hare to a race. The hare laughed but said yes. The race began. The hare ran very fast and was soon far ahead. He looked back and didn’t see the tortoise anywhere. He thought, “That slow tortoise will take forever. I’ll rest for a while.” So, he lay under a tree and fell asleep. Since the tortoise was moving slowly, he didn't halt. He passed over the sleeping hare and reached the finishing line. When Hare woke up, he ran with all his might as hard as he could, but to no avail. The tortoise was already on the finishing line.

The moral: Slow and steady wins the race.
