English Language Club Application for Class 6, 7, 8, SSC, HSC

English is an international language, and it is very important for our education and career. But many students are weak in English because they get little chance to practise speaking and writing it outside the classroom. An English Language Club can solve this problem — in the club, students can practise speaking, debate, read English newspapers, and learn new words in a friendly way. That is why writing an application for setting up an English Language Club is a common application question in school and board examinations. This page gives you the correct format of an English Language Club application along with complete sample applications to the Principal and to the Headmaster, useful phrases, sentence patterns, and frequently asked questions.

  • Explain why English is important and why students are weak in it: little practice, fear of speaking, no scope outside the classroom.

  • Mention the activities of the club: speaking practice, debate, English newspaper reading, spelling and vocabulary games, and wall magazines.

  • Mention that the club needs only a room, a teacher's guidance, and permission — it costs almost nothing.

  • Keep the language polite and humble — use words like "we beg most respectfully", "we shall be highly obliged", and "we pray and hope".

  • Never forget the date, the subject, and your signature at the end.

English Language Club Application to the Principal

18 January 2026

The Principal

Dhaka College

Dhaka

Subject: Prayer for setting up an English Language Club.

Sir,

We, the students of your college, beg most respectfully to state that English is an international language, and it is essential for higher education and for a good career. But most of us are weak in English. We can read and write English to some extent, but we cannot speak it fluently. The main reason is that we get no opportunity to practise speaking English outside the classroom.

We believe that an English Language Club in our college can remove this weakness. In the club, we shall practise speaking English with one another, take part in debates and discussions, read English newspapers and magazines, and learn new words and correct pronunciation. A teacher of the English department may kindly guide us.

The club will need only a room for its weekly meetings and your kind permission. It will cost almost nothing, but it will benefit all the students greatly.

We, therefore, pray and hope that you would be kind enough to give us permission to set up an English Language Club in our college and to appoint a teacher as its adviser. We shall be highly obliged to you for this kindness.

We remain,

Sir,

Yours obediently,

Arif Hossain

English Language Club Application to the Headmaster

5 March 2026

The Headmaster

Mymensingh Zilla School

Mymensingh

Subject: Prayer for setting up an English Language Club.

Sir,

We, the students of your school, beg most respectfully to state that we are very weak in English, especially in speaking. Although English is taught in every class, we have no scope to practise it. As a result, we feel shy and afraid when we have to speak English, and many of us fail to do well in the English examination.

An English Language Club can help us overcome this problem. The members of the club will meet once a week after the classes. We shall practise conversation, hold debates, recite English poems, and publish a wall magazine in English. We shall also invite our English teachers to guide us and to correct our mistakes.

We, therefore, earnestly request you to allow us to form an English Language Club in our school. We hope you will consider our prayer sympathetically and grant us permission.

Yours obediently,

Tanvir Ahmed
