On the 7th March of 1971, founding father of the nation, addressed the nation at the Race Course Ground (Well known as Sohrawardi Udyan now). In his speech he instructed the bangalis of East-Pakistan (Bangladesh) to prepare for the struggle of liberation. In fact, he clearly indicated the independence of East-Pakistan, now known as Bangladesh.
১৯৭১ সালের ০৭ মার্চ ঢাকার রমনার রেসকোর্স ময়দানে (বর্তমান সোহরাওয়ার্দী উদ্যান) অনুষ্ঠিত জনসভায় বাঙালি জাতির পিতা ও বাংলাদেশ রাষ্ট্রের প্রতিষ্ঠাতা বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমান বক্তৃতা করেন। এই বক্তৃতায় তিনি পূর্ব-পাকিস্তানের (বর্তমান বাংলাদেশ) বাঙালিদেরকে স্বাধীনতা সংগ্রামের জন্য প্রস্তুত হতে বলেন। মূলত: এই বক্তৃতার মাধ্যমে পূর্ব-পাকিস্তান তথা বাংলাদেশের স্বাধীনতার স্পষ্ট ইঙ্গিত দেয়া হয়।
