"কী করে এই বাঙালি মোর নেমক হারাম হবে, যুদ্ধ করে স্বাধীন এ দেশ দিলাম কেনো তবে?" আগস্ট মাসের সেদিন রাতে আঁধার ছিলো বেশ চাঁদ-তারা সব লুকোয় মেঘে ভয়ের চোটে শেষ! পনেরো আগস্ট পঁচাত্তরের রক্ত ঝরা রাতে বুলেট করে এফোড়-ওফোড় তর্জনীটির হাতে। কী যে করুণ সে ঘটনা কষ্ট জমায় বুকে কেমন করে শোক দিবসে থাকছো বলো সুখে। চোখের জলে ভাসে সবই, ভাসে সাগর নদী থমকে গিয়ে চন্দ্র বাতাস কাঁদে নিরবধি! পাখপাখালির চেঁচামেচি স্বয়ং জানান দেয় বঙ্গবন্ধু মুজিব মোদের আর যে বেঁচে নেই। তোমার হাতে স্বাধীন হলাম, পেলাম মাতৃভূমি স্বদেশ ভূমি সবই আছে নেই যে খোকা তুমি। তখন যেমন বইতো নদী আজও তেমন বহমান কোন সুদূরে হারিয়ে গেলে শেখ মুজিবুর রহমান?
