Trees are important for keeping the water cycle in balance. They release water into the air through transpiration, helping create rain. Without them, soil can wash away, leading to floods and landslides. For people, especially those who live in or near forests, deforestation can take away their sources of food, medicine, and income. It also affects the economy, especially industries like agriculture and tourism that rely on healthy ecosystems.
