এখানে হলো P-এর মানভেক্টর অভিক্ষেপ (Vector Projection): যদি অভিক্ষেপটিকে ভেক্টর আকারে প্রকাশ করতে বলা হয়। তবে তার মানকে উক্ত ভেক্টরের একক ভেক্টর দিয়ে গুণ করতে হয়:
