The story is quite short but I took almost 10 minutes to finish the whole story. I did not prepare myself for the sad ending. Losing someone you love in just the blink of an eye is something I cannot handle.

The author narrates the scene when he is losing the love of his life. It is the situation that people like us never want it to happen. It really definitely tears him apart. I can feel his sadness and heartbreaking through those words.

Personally, I really feel for the man because I had an experience like this before when I was 7. I feel so relatable with this situation, losing someone I loved in front of my face. That person was my grandmother. In only a few seconds, I lost her forever. She died from heart attack. It happened so fast. I could not feel anything. It was the first time that I felt extremely frightened and could not breathe. So, that is why I can picture the moment that the man is losing someone he loves forever.

Pain, sorrow, and tears are seizing right through him. The sad thing is he is not able to help his lover. He keeps blaming himself why it has to be his girlfriend who walks across the road for mailing a letter to his mother.

At the very end of the story makes me want to burst into tears. I just acknowledge that they are going to marry soon. They are about to start a new chapter of their relationship. I start thinking why death has to take her away from her lover. This makes me feel much sadder. Moreover, the raindrops was bigger after his lover has gone, I feel like it rains in his heart too. The weather is worst like it wants to emphasize his loss, so the feeling of sadness is all he is able to feel.

In my opinion, I like the writing style of the author. The story is only half-A4 paper length, but he portrays the story smooth and realistic. While reading, I can imagine from words. I can feel the love from this simple relationship in the normal day, but who would think that the man will see a beautiful smile on his lover’s face for the last time.

The situation in the story can happen to anyone. We never know what is going to happen in a next day, month, year, or even minute. That is why we should spend a meaningful time with someone we love as much as we can.
