It was a summer day and a crow became very thirsty. It began to move
here and there in search of drinking water but in vain. At last he saw a jar of
water and became very happy. The crow flew there but there was a little water
at the bottom of the jar. It
tried hard to reach the water but in vain. “What
should I do now? How thirsty I am!” Said the crow herself. Her dream was
drinking water from the jar. She was thinking what could be done. But she could
not find any way. Suddenly it looked around and saw some pebbles around the
jar. At once she hit upon a plan and began to
pick up the pebbles one by one and dropped them into the jar. Soon the water rose higher and higher. At last the water level came within her reach.
Then the crow drank water to her hearts content and flew away.
